Risk Factors:

When it comes to chronic headaches, there are several factors that can be stimulating your condition. Some of these risk factors may include the following:

  • Depression.
  • Snoring.
  • Anxiety.
  • Obesity.
  • Overuse of headache medication.
  • Stress.

Ordinary lifestyle changes can sometimes go a long way in helping patients prevent headaches and allow them to live more comfortably. Some simple prevention methods can include the following:

  • Try avoiding headache triggers: writing down what causes your headaches can help you avoid it in the future. Patients who are aware of what causes their headaches may be able to prevent them altogether.
  • Get a good night’s sleep: you should be getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
  • Do not skip meals: eat well-balanced meals at the same time every day. Avoid consuming caffeine anything else that can create a headache.
  • Avoid medication use unless directed to do so by your doctor.
  • Reduce stress: try yoga or meditation to reduce your stress.
