15 Oct Know the Signs Of Stroke
A stroke occurs when blood flow is interrupted or cut off from an area of the brain. This deprives the brain tissue of oxygen which results in brain cells dying. Depending on where the stroke occurs, and how much damage it causes the brain will determine how one will be affected. Smaller strokes may result in minor problems, such as a temporary arm or leg weakness, whereas more severe strokes may permanently paralyze one side of the body, even resulting in speech problems. Speak to our neurologist in Port Jefferson if you have any further questions regarding signs and symptoms.
